Section 97
Protection of property within rural municipality and municipal area
(1) The rural municipality and municipality shall maintain, maintain and manage the following assets within their area:-
(a) Government, community and public property,
(b) Property made from own funds, purchased or given by the Government of Nepal, State Government, any organization or person,
(c) Sewers, drains, bridges, ponds, religious places, pati, paua, houses, wells, streams, wells, gauchars, panighats, exits, squares, alleys, roads, paths and trees on the right and left of the road,
(d) buildings, land, parks, gardens, squares, gardens, bus parks or other structures in their possession,
(e) National Parks, Wildlife Reserves, Frontier Areas and other forests within their jurisdiction except National Forests,
(f) Other natural resources outside the jurisdiction of the Government of Nepal or the Provincial Government in accordance with the Constitution and prevailing laws (G) Natural assets and areas designated by the Government of Nepal or the State Government in accordance with prevailing laws.
(2) The rural municipality and the municipality shall not be allowed to sell or sell the public and community property as per sub-section (1) or to transfer or lease the rights to any other person.
(3) The rural municipality and municipality shall not be allowed to sell or sell the immovable property in their name without the approval of the Government of Nepal. (4) Villages and municipalities shall keep up-to-date records of property as per sub-section (1).
